Community Guidelines

Last updated 25 August 2026

Plantshaven Community is a place for people to share agricultural knowledge, ask questions, exchange experiences and learn from one another.
These Guidelines apply to posts, comments, images and other content shared through Community.

By participating in Community, you agree to follow these Guidelines and our Terms of Use.

1. Be Respectful

Treat other members with respect.

Do not:

  • Harass, threaten or intimidate others.
  • Target people with abusive or degrading language.
  • Encourage violence or harm.
  • Repeatedly disrupt conversations.
  • Deliberately provoke or attack other members.

Disagreement is allowed. Personal attacks are not.

2. Keep It Useful

Community exists primarily for agriculture and related discussions.

We encourage:

  • Questions about crops, plants and farming.
  • Sharing practical agricultural experiences.
  • Farm and garden discussions.
  • Constructive advice.
  • Agricultural news and information.
  • Sharing successes and failures others can learn from.

Occasional related conversations are fine, but Community should not be used primarily for unrelated promotion, spam or disruptive content.

3. Share Agricultural Advice Responsibly

Agricultural conditions vary between farms, crops, climates and locations.

When sharing advice:

  • Be clear when something is based on your own experience.
  • Avoid presenting uncertain information as guaranteed fact.
  • Do not deliberately provide dangerous or misleading agricultural instructions.
  • Consider that products, treatments and practices may differ between locations.

When discussing agricultural inputs or treatments, users should verify appropriate products, labels, application requirements and local rules before acting.

Plantshaven may remove content that creates a significant risk of harm.

4. No Scams, Spam or Manipulation

Do not use Community to:

  • Scam or defraud other users.
  • Send repetitive or unwanted promotional content.
  • Artificially manipulate engagement.
  • Impersonate another person, farm, organization or business.
  • Promote fraudulent opportunities.
  • Collect information from users deceptively.
  • Post malicious or deceptive links.

Reasonable recommendations and relevant business discussions may be permitted, but Community should not become a spam or advertising channel.

5. Respect Privacy

Do not share another person's private information without permission.

This includes information such as:

  • Private contact information.
  • Personal identification information.
  • Financial information.
  • Private conversations.
  • Precise private locations.
  • Other information that could create a meaningful privacy or safety risk.

Be thoughtful about information visible in photos before posting them.

6. Share Content You Have the Right to Use

Only upload content that you created or have permission to share.

Do not knowingly post material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark or other rights.

Giving credit does not automatically give you permission to use someone else's content.

7. No Harmful or Illegal Content

Do not use Community to publish, promote or facilitate:

  • Illegal activity.
  • Credible threats of violence.
  • Exploitation or abuse.
  • Fraud.
  • Malicious software.
  • Dangerous activity intended to harm people, animals or property.
  • Content that is otherwise prohibited by applicable law.

8. Images and Media

Images should be relevant to the discussion in which they are shared.

Do not upload:

  • Images you do not have permission to share.
  • Private or sensitive images of another person without permission.
  • Deceptively manipulated images intended to mislead others.
  • Graphic or disturbing material without a legitimate agricultural or educational reason.

We may restrict or remove media that is inappropriate for Community.

9. Community Advice Is Not Verified by Plantshaven

Community content is created by users.

Plantshaven does not necessarily review, verify or endorse advice, opinions, diagnoses, recommendations or other information posted by Community members.

Information that appears in Community should not be treated as professional advice merely because it appears on Plantshaven.

Use reasonable judgment and seek appropriate professional guidance where necessary.

10. Reporting Content

If you see content that you believe violates these Guidelines, you can use available reporting tools or contact Plantshaven.

Reports help us identify potential problems but do not automatically mean that content will be removed.

We may review the content, surrounding context and relevant account activity when deciding what action to take.

11. How We Enforce These Guidelines

Depending on the circumstances, Plantshaven may:

  • Remove content.
  • Limit the visibility of content.
  • Warn a user.
  • Restrict Community features.
  • Temporarily suspend an account.
  • Permanently suspend or terminate an account.
  • Take other reasonable action necessary to protect Community or the Services.

We may consider factors such as:

  • Severity of the violation.
  • Potential harm.
  • Context.
  • Whether the behaviour is repeated.
  • Previous violations.
  • Attempts to evade enforcement.

Serious violations may result in immediate action without a prior warning.

Where appropriate, users may be given an opportunity to appeal or request review of an enforcement decision.

12. Account Deletion and Community Content

If you delete your Plantshaven account, Community contributions may be anonymized so that they are no longer associated with your account.

You may request deletion of your Community posts and comments as part of the account-deletion process.

Additional details are available on our Account & Data Deletion page and in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines as Community develops or new safety issues emerge.

When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.

Significant changes may also be communicated through Plantshaven where appropriate.
